I agree with James’ 2019 ratings, although I believe that the merlot drinks better than an 88. It is not insipid like some traditional merlots but is a bit heavier and goes fantastically with a western districts spring lamb roast. Maybe James needs to taste fine wine when pairing with some fine food. Think youll agree it makes all the difference.
Had a bottle of 2012 reserve shiraz recently which was absolutely delicious.
