James Halliday Tasting Notes:
From an original 46yo plot, this is all molten black fruits on one hand; a savoury melody of clove, worn leather, anise, cardamom, bitter chocolate and bay leaf, on the other. Fragrant and of multitudinous layers, each revealing itself with time in the glass. Poised. The tannins are substantial on the back end, suggesting that this augers very well for a long time in the cellar.
"How wonderful to be able to make wine from the fruit of your best blocks of vines, and name then in honour of your children."
Sahsah the wine is full bodied with plums, red cherries, spice, olives, cloves and gumleaf on the nose. The palate reflects its heritage with black and red fruits, dark chocolate and a beautifully balanced length to finish.
